We have stray cats come into our barn, and its been a cruel year. 16 kittens were born, one died at birth. One of our siamese mother cats got her tail ran over, chopping off half of it and twisting her spine. She's getting better, but still has a hard time walking. One of our kittens from her litter died of starvation, and another mom took them as we'll as her own kittens. When the kittens started walking, one got so wrapped up in bailing twine that I thought he was dead. It had wrapped so tight around his mid section, right across his lungs and stomach. It had also twisted across one of his back legs, taking it over his back. We got the twine off, but we don't know if he will survive. Our horse shoer got a knew job, and its like he forgot how to shoe horses. He cut our two oldest mares feet so short they were bleeding and couldn't walk. They will never be able to show again, and its been a hard recovery. It's been a hard year for the animals, and I hope everything will be better.
